Finland has produced many world famous brands including Nokia, Kone, Marimekko, Iittala and the Moomins, as well as world-class sportsmen like Kimi Räikkönen, Jari Litmanen and a host of successful ice hockey stars.

Favourite sports among Finns include athletics, Finnish baseball, ski-jumping and figure skating. The stunts of the Dudesons have also raised Finland’s international profile. And of course everyone knows that Santa Claus comes from Finnish Lapland!

Our paper and metal industries are highly globalised. We are also very proud of our self-sufficient agriculture and the wholesome products of our farms – not least because Finland is the world’s most northerly agricultural country.
