The rural development programme will be continuously enhanced to meet society’s changing needs. Factors such as climate change, the development of new technologies, and wider trends in society will all result in new challenges and opportunities in the context of rural development.

Experiences gained during the present programme’s period of 2007–2013 will be used when shaping the next such programme, which will commence in 2014. This website will also feature preparations for this new programme period.
